The Language Development Division (LDD) powers the core mission of WBTC by preserving the rich linguistic diversity of the Caribbean and ensuring that every person has access to God’s Word in their heart language. Through our work, we strengthen cultural identity, empower communities, and foster spiritual and educational growth.

To advocate for and facilitate holistic language development, literacy, and Bible translation among Caribbean minority languages, so that every speaker can access Scripture and engage with their language for personal and community growth.
That all minority languages in the Caribbean will be fully developed, respected, and used alongside official languages, ensuring they remain a vital part of their communities.
We ensure that speakers of minority languages have access to the Bible in their own language, empowering spiritual transformation.
We promote the use of mother tongue languages in schools and national policies, ensuring minority languages thrive.
By developing literacy materials and offering training, we help communities use their mother tongues for education and spiritual engagement.
We document languages to protect them from extinction and advocate for their continued use in everyday life.
We work with governments and organizations to ensure minority languages are included in national language policies and educational systems.
