The Western Caribbean Creole Old Testament Bible Translation Project was initiated following a 2019 translation conference, where 12 Caribbean nations gathered to assess translation needs. The project focuses on translating the Old Testament into the Creole languages of Belize, Jamaica, and San Andres. Despite initial financial challenges, local churches and volunteers committed their resources and time to start the translation process. With the support of The Seed Company, full-time translators were appointed, and three books—Jonah, Ruth, and Esther—have been completed, with the first draft of Genesis underway. This project, which brings together denominations, churches, and translation partners, is transforming access to the Old Testament in the heart languages of these communities.
Key Scripture: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16
